The real challenge on this project was to apply a 3-coat NHL plaster with temperatures exceeding 100° F. Working early in the morning, and taking extra precautions to reduce water evaporation, was the only way to apply lime plaster in these extreme conditions. Lime plaster's natural "old world" beauty and texture blends ideally with Arizona desert architecture and earthen styles. NHL 3.5 was used for the scratch and brown coats, while Ecomortar F is finish coat. |

| Description: |
Construction of a Dharma Wheel Pavilion, or Prayer Wheel Pavilion, at this Junction City Buddhist temple. These prayer wheels are used to convey the blessings of compassion and harmony, and for prevention of natural disasters and promotion of world peace. Wanting to use an earth-friendly material to convey a message of well being and beauty, Chagdud Goupa's Foundation decided that natural hydraulic lime plasters were the materials of choice. |
