Description: Complete restoration of mission built in 1797, which was heavily damaged during the December 2003 earthquake. NHL is used for structural rehabilitation as well as for adobe plastering in order to preserve the historical integrity of this California landmark.

The Franciscan Church, Tumacacori National Historic Park, Southern Arizona
Completion date: Summer 2004

Description: Restoration of the church dome. Originally built with adobe in 1821, the dome was badly damaged mainly due to the use of improper modern materials for maintenance and past restoration. Layers of impervious materials such as cement, acrylics, waterproofing, etc. were removed, revealing the original adobe structure. The dome was then covered with a minimum of five layers of NHL 5 and NHL 3.5, recreating the original dome with adequate protection.
